About
Incense from Karangasem, and a promise to its schools.
I’m Sinta. I grew up in Karangasem, in the east of Bali, and taught primary school there before moving to Australia, where I now work as an early childhood educator. In Karangasem, incense is part of every day. Families light it with the offerings each morning, and I have carried that into our home in Busselton.
Solkarra Living is part of Solkarra Group, which Cassie, Luke, Tom and I started in 2025 out of a shared love of archery and the community around it. We saw that the things we love could also do some good, and incense was the obvious place for me to start.

Where our incense is rolled
Every stick is rolled by hand by families in Karangasem who have made incense for generations. We chose them for what we look for in incense at home: a natural scent from essential oils, never perfume; no charcoal, so the smoke stays low; and a fragrance that settles a room instead of filling it. The ingredients are non-certified organic and nothing is tested on animals.
Why 15% goes back
The children in those villages are loved and cared for, but many go without school uniforms, lunches and classroom supplies. So 15% of the profit from every order goes back to the communities we buy from. It is built into how the business works.
Where we’re heading
By 2028 we plan to start a fund for several remote schools in Karangasem, paying for:
- school uniforms
- lunches
- classroom supplies and learning resources
Over time we hope to reach the villages around them too.
Whether incense is part of your prayer or part of a calm evening at home, thank you for being here. Every order supports the bigger work we’re building toward, one steady step at a time.
